The heavy rainfall has affected large parts of the country, including Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
To make matters worse, cloudbursts and a recent heatwave have triggered glacial melt and swelling rivers – especially in Gilgit Baltistan and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This, combined with flash flooding, has caused damage and destruction to buildings and farms and many families have also lost their livestock. 500-700 homes have been damaged, and many are in desperate need of shelter.
